I usually take a weeks vacation this time of year with the intention to do a lot of fishing, but that turns into a long list of crap I need to get done and I am burned out by Thursday and dont get much fishing done. #1 priority is to rebuild the 10 year old redneck pontoon boat needed for the aforementioned fishing expedition. As of now it wont get all the bells and whistles the original one had... lights, aerators, stereo, speakers, etc, but that may change any day.  The old frame rotted out and the barrels leaked and it sank 3 times last year. . Barrels will be resealed with the "as seen on TV" flex seal so it shouldnt do that any more. 8X12 with a crap load of storage and 2 livewells. I have had 6 guys on this before and it could handle more, flotation wise.

While doing that, I will be multi tasking and recording my cassette collection on the computer. I can load one in and it will play both sides while I am working. When it is done, I trim off the dead air, name it and start another one. I get to listen to stuff I havent heard for years and save them to use on the computer. It's gonna take awhile.

And in my "spare time", I will be servicing the mower, trimming trees, mowing the grass, cleaning up around the lake, finishing the other end table, filling the tractor(s) tires with anti freeze, spring cleaning on the shop and probably alot more that isnt on the list right now. When all of that is done ,I might do some fishing

You'll have to go back to work to rest up from your vacation after doing all that.  Good luck.

Made good progres on the pontoon so far today. I got the barrels resealed and finished the bones. The gap in the center is for when the 2x4s sag, the water will run through the cracks. I will add a raised 2x4 to match the decking..

Its mostly done, I still have some cosmetic stuff to do  :rolling: .  Grabbed the sky hook and got it on the trailer while I had some help. That will get the rest of the stuff I need to do up to a good working level. After 2 days of working down passed knee level, my back needed a break. Its gonna need new seats. I hate buying the walmart $30 seats, but it might come to that for now. I never had any luck with them. Cheap hinges and the bolts rip out. Not ready to dump $150 into good quality seats yet. The locator is on the small fishing boat right now. Same with the new trolling motor. Thats another $250+. I built it the first time mostly out of stuff I had laying around. It lasted 10 years last time, Ready for another 15 more and I still dont have as much as an old ragged out pontoon would cost to start with.

Thanks Kenny. If you ever get norf, I can get you on some good crappie. Added a middle seat/ battery box/ control center. Too damn hard to add wiring after I put it in. Gonna run the wires for the extra stuff now, I can wire up the extra pumps later.

Made it up to the D's on the cassettes. Damn Yankees, Dio, Def Leapord, Martin Delray.... Lots of variety today.

I'm curious, do you use a particular program for the cassette conversion? That's something that's been on my "to do" list for a long time.

I bought a $20 cassette deck on line that plays both sides then shuts off. It came with Audacity, but I use Wave studio 7 that came with the sound card.

Looks like the plans for next week just got changed...20 minutes into mowing the yard for the first time this year, the 23hp kohler command started popping and mild backfire out of one cylinder. No extra clanging or anything. It might have lost a valve seat, stuck valve or burned a hole in the piston. Gotta wait for it to cool off to see what happened. I sold all of my extra kohler parts 2 years ago, including 4 heads. Now I probably need one.

I took the valve cover off one side and the exhaust rocker was laying in the bottom. Rocker bolt hole stripped out. I should be able to helicoil this.

Other than buying the wrong gasket for the tappet cover, the mower is back up and running but the old gasket leaks. $40 for a damn M6 helicoil kit is still cheaper than a new head.
