One more thing too, what size battery would you recommend? The battery in it now is a 600 CCA car battery which was in it when I got it and it's barely holding a charge now. The O'Reilly auto parts by me has a 160 CCA lawn and garden battery on sale but that doesn't seem like it'd be strong enough

I would go with a good brand 420CCA Garden tractor battery. Some times these flat heads can be stubborn to start. Minimum of a 380.
