I was guessing about 8" overall.  Thanks for any help.                                                       Roger

Roger I came across this idea yesterday needing to make a leveling rod assembly for my MTD 990 deck. It could also be used making linkages. Using foundation anchor bolts, these are 1/2" diameter & come in 6"-10" & 12" lengths. You could simply drill the appropriate hole for the pin. They are usually a few bucks with nut & washer.

Neat idea. Thanks sawdust. Tom I think that is what I will make mine. 9" should be good enough.   Thanks.                                                               Roger

Got some work done on the hitch the last couple of days. I have pics but my card will not load to my computer?????/ I'm trying so you guys can see the progress so far. Just wanted to let you know I am still working on it. Fairly nice day today so we got some outside things done and I picked up a bunch of crate wood for some upcoming wood projects. I have a 1/2 " piece of stock around here somewhere to make the link with but darned if I can find it. I'll get those pics up one way or another so you can see my unhandy work.                                                                                                                                                   Roger.
