Hi all,

My dad added two economies to his collection tonight. A Jim Dandy and a Power King. Neither of us know much about economy tractors so I was hoping to get info from you guys. We got both tractors for a decent price I thought. I guess we just want a little reassurance lol

The power king runs and has a 14hp Kohler and the economy has a 9hp Briggs and needs lots of TLC.

Thanks for the info!
Found out the Jim dandy is a 1963 and the power king is a 1971.

I always liked the Economy/Power King tractors since seeing ads for them in magazines growing up . I bought a 1968 Jim Dandy from the original owner over 30 years ago it's been a good machine all these years

I'm wondering if the 71 had a 16hp engine put in it years ago or if the previous owner just put a larger air cleaner on it.  That's definitely a 16hp air cleaner.  The engine does look original though.  As for the Jim Dandy, finding a hood will be your big challenge unless you were lucky enough to get the original in the deal.  They bring a lot of money so just be prepared and patient.  You may come across a good deal.  It's been done.  That's a nice find to be able to get both of them.  They look to be in pretty decent original shape too.

Ok I do have the hood for the Jim dandy. It wasn't bolted on so I had it in the back of the truck. The power king does have the original engine and a larger air cleaner as you guessed. Not really sure why but I have an air cleaner for a 14hp in my spare parts.
