Do you have a motor for it. What would have been in it from the factory?

Original engine would have been a Wisconsin S-7D

This one probably wont run for a while. I'm going to concentrate on the restoration of the 600.

I never saw any mower decks from the factory that were a different color underneath. ......Of course, I never saw every one ever made!

:ditto:

The one I saw was on a green 42'' Deck. From what I can tell all the paint is original.

This is the same color/decal scheme as mine (which has been in the family for its entire 48 years of service). I can't wait for bread320i to get some decals made.

Somewhere in my basement is some 8mm footage of my dad driving it around the yard when they brought it home from the dealer. He would have been about 16 at the time. I think I also have footage of them using the 2 wheel ride-a-matic that they eventually traded in for the 800. One of these days I'll dig it up and convert it to DVD and post it.

:ditto: That would be really neat.

Brian, I missed this when it started, that's a really nice start to a restoration. Good find, great shape!

Today I finally got the right wheel hub free.
Someone had the nut way too tight. It was also pretty rusty.
I had to bring out the big guns as a simple pipe would not move the bolt. I ended up using some left over tube from a Bolens frame :D
