Hi All,

Last Fall I was mowing and suddenly the engine noise increased dramatically.  Everything was still operating OK, and after opening the hood and looking at the engine everything seemed to be OK, so I continued mowing.  My Bad.  The next time I looked at the front of my tractor I saw the RH headlight lens was melted/distorted.  The increase is noise level was caused by the top of the muffler blowing off, and the hot gasses were going out through the headlight area.

The muffler top was held on by a rolled bead of sheet metal that had rusted off on one side allowing the entire top to come loose.

The Mig welder fixed the muffler problem, at least for awhile, but my headlight lens is twisted and ugly.

Everywhere I look on-line for a replacement it says discontinued product.  Is there anyone still making these, or am I just going to have to wait for an EBAY or Craigslist offering?

Alternately, do you think I could use a heat gun to reshape the lens?  Anyone ever try anything like this?

Thanks

I'm afraid you'll have to find a used one. You can try to reshape, but doubt it will work. Try the sponsors, maybe one of them has one.

It looks like I'll have to go the Epay route for getting a new lens :wallbanging:

I tried to use a heat gun to remold the lens and got close but there was just too much damage

to get a perfect repair. 0327151937.jpg 0330151002.jpg
