What coil will work to replace a coil on a 8hp briggs (soldered style) ? It on a old troybilt tiller with electric starter.

Find the engines' model number and check with our sponsors. The Briggs and Stratton Repairmans' Manual is in our Manuals Section is excellant and can be downloaded for free. Check out its troubleshooting section. Good Luck, Rick

To make sure you get the right part I'd pull the model number.

with/without electric start doesnt mean anything  for which coil that engine takes.
