43 crappie at stonewall lake

3 of us fishing from the boat with minnows. At first it was drop a minnow boom fish. Then it slowed and we moved picked up and then stopped. It was raining again so we left.

we threw more back than we caught. These are small fish. We thought there was a size and limit but we got out the tablet and looked it up. Apparently there is neither on crappie right now in wv.

I have to say this is the only way to fish.

Should be 23. One guy took half of them home with him. Tim and I combine our catches and freeze them. We are stocking up to have a huge fish fry and invite a lot of people over. We live at the same camp so it means we both reap the benefits of our fish stock for dinner as well.

Tacoma got boat duty tonight since there was 3 of us going. Our normal pull truck is a regular cab truck. 3 grown men in a regular can doesn't work. Truck did pretty good towing. Used a lot of gas though. Probably 14 or 15 mpg vs 20 mpg.

I've never understood why you can catch fish through the ice, but when the ice goes out, you have to wait for the water to warm up to catch fish.

Between 4 of us we limited out on trout tonight. 6 each 24 fish.

we started out with 3 of us we hit our limit in an hour. Then when we were heading back to dock to load up but we found a buddy of ours along the bank put him in the boat and caught 6 more in 30 minutes. He didn't want any fish he was just having fun so we caught his limit.

We now have 36 trout in the freezer. Fish cook off is a go.

My buddy holding them up. My wife said I look terrible in my picture. I haven't trimmed my beard in 2 months nor cut my hair. She said I need to clean up.

Mason lake tonight. Took the boat out.

One trout. Not worth a picture.

70 minutes driving 20 minutes unloading and loading for one fish wasn't a successful night. But it was time on the water.

Some very nice fish you guys are catching. Nice to get out and about I'm sure.

Steelhead trout will be heading upstream to spawn up here. I know guys who book a week off for this fishing but it is difficult to gauge which week to take off as the spawn is also related to ice conditions.

I had a coworker text me a pic of three crappies today while I was at work. Ticked me off. I texted him back a pic of concrete pile and ticked him off. He was so excited about fishing that the boss skipped over him asking for OT volunteers.
