Second fishing trip of March netted some decent results.  Went and fished off the bank Curtisville Lake in WV.  Caught 6 Trout, missed the first 2 hits we had because I jumped the gun and grabbed the pole up before it had swallowed the bait.  Got a bit excited

First trip was to Whiteday a stream outside of Fairmont WV.  First time Stream fishing.  Water was up a good bit.  My friend caught one, I caught none that day.  I had no clue what I was doing!

Anyway, photo evidence of fish caught!  Although I noticed the total on the stringer is 4, I must not of snapped a picture of last 2 caught.  It was dark when we left.

I never understood why anyone went ice fishing. I mean if I want ice I open the freezer. If I lived in an area that froze over I would just go outside and pick some up.

I used to ice fish a lot, a lot more than I should of. That was when I was younger. As I got older it was to dang cold for me. I was just getting the tackle box ready for spring the other day. Wife wants the weather to warm up so we can get the boat out of the garage from winter and get it cleaned up for fishing as soon as it gets warmer and the ice leaves the lakes. She don't eat them but loves to fish and catch them.  Going to put a radio in the boat this year, we both like to listen to the music as we fish. Should have my battery trolling motor fixed in a few days.  Looks like a good time and some good eating. Enjoy.                                Roger

The darn cats and coons picked my fish tree clean----much like my boys picked my money tree clean to the stump

A poor day fishing still beats the heck out of a good day at work in my book. Nice trout--- I like them on the B.B.Q. too.

I never did figure out how to get the hook into the cubes. I'll stay with warm weather fishing!

Good looking fish.  Congratulations.

Ice fishing is enjoyable if you know what to expect.

Nice catch!

On the ice fishing....I never could cast well enough to get the hook to fall into the hole!

I to damn scared to get on the ice....I fell through the ice once and the water was about 25' deep at that spot!!

I agree. It's a great deal of fun. It was really enjoyable on those days when it's 40 out and there is still 8 plus inches of ice on the lake. We only caught 2 fish. But it was a learning experience and I'll probably try again next year.

I plan on doing a lot of fishing this summer. Next week we will have an 18' bass boat at our disposal. That should change things.

Spring fishing opens here on April 15. Yea right, getting to any fishing hole around here, impossible. And using a boat, well you will be dragging it on the ice, not sitting in it on the water.  Noel

Stream fishing is a lot of fun I used to fish for trout in NJ streams Musconetcong, Paulins kill, south branch and north branch of the Raritan river. Spring would often find these streams high and cold, the bottom strewn with rocks and boulders as you waded them your feet barely made contact with the bottom in the swift current and you more or less skipped along the pressure of the water keeping you up, a bit scary at times . Nice catch you guy's made.

Your first fish on that stringer looks to be a nice big trout. That must have made you happy when you pulled that in!

Was at the lake today metal detecting and both the Son in-law and I were happy to see that 70% of the lake was free of ice. Can't wait to get back in the boat!!!!

That first one was a good sized fish. The last one and it were about the same size.

I am going to start a little log here of my fishing trips. We are planning on going quite often through the week since our wives are both in ohio and we are down here working. Lots of free time
