Have you had a look at our Manuals section to see if there is a service manual for your tractor. If it has a Peerless transmission there is also a Tecumseh/Peerless manual in the transmission section that gives parts breakdowns and repair instructions.

i got the break down of the tranny but can seem to see if theres anything that has to be hooked on it just thought someone might know is there something that goes on the end of the stick to slid the gears back and forth i can slide them with my finger so maybe its got to be in the right spot its just the shaft on the end of stick with a grove in it

If you can move it with your fingers, raise the back tire off the ground and take the belt off. Put it in any gear and spin the tire. Note the direction and speed of the pulley. Repeat for the other gears. I that works, the shifter may have jumped out of the socket or the tip busted off. If it doesnt work, you may have a busted shifter fork

wheres the fork on it and the shifter i got out it;s all there so is there  a fork that hooks to the shifter or is it build on the gears inside my shifter is rounded out like a lathe on the bottom which looks like it snaps in place on something the bottom ones when i slide it is like it snaps in and the top one moves really easy like you don;t have to push it as hard like it dosn;t lock in place

Here are some pictures. Hope they are some help. I hate to ask this question and I know you have all ready checked, but are you sure that the belt is not slipping. May just need adjustment or replace. I had some trouble with mine , not quite the same problem as yours, but similar. Belt was slipping on mine.  Noel
