i transfered back section and trans from a 1972 sears custom 10xl to a front section from a 1972 compact 8e. transfer was a directbolt up swap. i still have to tighten bolts and hook everything back up and adjust brakes. i will give dads new to him tranny a oil change next week. on the original compact 8e frame it was butchered in the back when i got it for him from a scrapyard. you look through pictures and see a cut out section on frame and other things. adjuster area on old frame you see a line going up thats actually a crack in the frame we never noticed until i am taking it apart lol so putting the 10xl back half on is definitly way to go in this case

I'm really liking the little Custom 10E that I have.It will really work hard with a little weight on the back and it is very maneuverable. It turns sharp and it's smaller size makes it perfect for my long narrow ward.BTW the customs mow Awesome. They really throw the grass out.
They're basically the same thing as a suburban 10 with a shorter frame.Same engine and transaxle.
Wonder if a Suburban Front frame would bolt up to a custom back half.Would be kinda nice to have that slot reciever for front mount attachments and the heavier front axle.

the suburban front wont bolt up to a custom back half i have had both a suburban split before and with this split i can tell that they wont interchange. on other note guys i had dads compact 8e running a little bit ago drove her around trans is working perfect i am in process of putting dads ags on back and replacing one rear fender thats bent up.
