Here's another rare bird. Magnatrac, same one that build (still in business, but owned by Struck) the little tracked dozers, built this tractor. 1st I ever seen in person. This Osgood Indiana show sure had some rare tractors, both GT & full size tractors. They only made the GT's in the late 70's I believe.
That is a neat looking tractor, almost has a sort of Oliver look to it but may just be the color. It would be awesome to have some of these rare tractors.
Thanks for the show link, olcowhand. I'll have to add that one to my list of tractor shows. That's just a little ways east of where my wife's family is from. You ever been to the show at Booneville, Indiana? It's over in the S.W. corner of the state, north of Evansville.
The tractor that Struck built was called the Turf Rider. They looked very much like the tracked machines. Could be bought as a kit like the little dozers. The half track would be to cool. http://books.google....20rider&f=false
going through a box of papers I've had for years. Was actually looking for a rocket ship kit. The box of papers arrived with about 50 popular mechanics dating back to the '40's
I had one of those magna-America tractors. It was made somewhere around 1965 to 1966 as the Briggs model 19D engine dated to 1965. The deck had wooden rollers and attached to the front axle like a Simplicity deck.
