I have been putting togather a brinly hitch for my 1556... I couldn't find 2 1/2 inch X 3/8 stock.... So I have 2" X 3/8"

My question is,, I think I only have room for one hole to make to hook up to the rear axle.. My prints show 2 holes, an upper and lower.. Will I be OK with just one hole..??? If so, should I just center it or go Hi or Lo with the hole.??

OR does the 2 holes keep it from free floating with another bolt in there ,in the other hole... Which hole do most people use.??

Thanks sodi

I thought only one hole on mounts so it swivels up/down? Maybe some lighter models needed to lock in place? Not familar with that. Would think if the final center pin in back was right length to match the implement U-shaped connector, the rest of metal could be smaller width. You going to put in the two bolts for sway or angling?

Two two holes I believe are for height adjustment, they are not for locking as its meant to free float on just two.

I think I always use the top holes when I plow.

Thanks.... The print I have shows 2 holes.. But they are only about 1 inch apart... not much of an adjustment there..

Like I mentioned,, I was only able to get 2 in. X 3/8 stock . So 2 5/8 holes would make the attaching area to the tractor rather weak I would think...

P S The weather is going to be above freezing finally...NNeed to grind and weld outside...

It would leave a 1/4 of stock around the holes if you space them the same that would not be weak.   A good steal place should have the stock you need......
