Its a large frame Bolens. They are an excellant tractor. It looks in perfect condition. If the stripes were original, it may be a 1976 Bicentennial tractor. It appears to be a heck of a find. Good Luck, Rick

What is the story behind it?

Nice looking tractor.  I'm not fond of the stripes though.

Those are not from the factory.

Bolens did have a set of decals that you could use for the1976 tractors:

Looks like a nice clean tractor that has never been hacked before! What a find.

Its getting harder to find ones that arent painted green or blue ect, this one was done right!

All I can say is WOW !!!!,what a nice machine, also have to ask, where did you find that one, those seat cushions are perfect, you never see them that nice, very nice find, also welcome, and Thanks for posting the pics,if those stripes are decals and you don't like them, a hair dryer or heat gun is the easiest way of removing them, just take your time, once removed you should be able to buff it up and probably won't notice they were there, the red stripe on the hood under the decal and headlights is correct,so make sure you leave it

I believe everything is original other than the decals unless I am mistaken. I think I'm gonna take the seat off as its perfect, no scratches or anything. I found this on craigslist. The last owner died and his family wanted to sell his stuff. His entire shop and tools and stuff all looked new.
