All I see is all the $$$ the Aholes take from my wife's and my labors.  So they give you a few hundred back?  What about the thousands they keep?  We had a revolution 239 years ago to free us from taxes and look at where the hell we are now??  We were better off paying the king I think!

I know several "self-employed" folks and they really screw take advantage of the system.

The problem will come later when they try to collect Social Security!!

Most times I am happy to get something back and not have to pay in.  I don't mind paying taxes as long as things run smoothly, the roads are maintained and schools teach kids correctly. that being said-----------  the roads in ny are terrible !!!!!!  the fed govt is so dysfunctional it is ridiculous !!!!! and the schools are always complaining they don't have enough money.  otherwise I am happy

without us paying taxes there would be no form off govt at all, and imagine how long it would take for this country to descend into chaos at that point ??  you think the rich take advantage rite now ??

Ok I am done, The wife has her eye on the tax check.  apparently we need new furniture in the living room !!!!!!!  and wouldn't you know it the tax check will almost pay for it all !!  I should only have to ad a few hundred to the pot to cover it all :wallbanging:

My Wife and I use the Tax returns as our savings. If we got the money in our monthly check we would find a way to spend it. Plus I am scared of miscalculating and having to write a check at the end of the year. Currently we get a big check back, 2 kids under 9yo plus we both withhold at single and no dependents. In the past, this big check has made us save it and think about what we really want to spend it on, vacations, house repairs, etc... Well this year was different, we had been planning on using for a new roof, nice vacation, and a few frivolous things. Instead my truck decided it would bust a cam follower and take out the entire engine. So all the nice tax money we got went straight to the new engine. Well we aint hurting but we sure aint got the extra this year.

I'm self employed, but the farm is set up as a corporation, so all has to be accounted for.  No federal tax to pay this year as we had a terrible loss.  But between Josh, Teresa & I, we paid in over $5,200 in social security, and State taxes just over $1100.  Some would find that cheap, but when you've already taken a beating with losses, it hurts.  BUT, as has been said, we can't operate without government, bad as it can be, it would be far worse without it.  That said, lets try not to get out of line politically.  It can get charged in a hurry.

We did well this year with 2 kids wife not working and me claiming all my business expenses. We got back about 75% of what we paid in. I was impressed. Local tax person did ours. She was amazing.

That was a trick commercial. They didn't show you that they were flying over the white house, just as they kicked the last few bucks off the plane, HA! I don't mind paying my fair share, but "fair" is spelled "fare" in the NY dictionary. I'm not looking to get all political, just cracking some jokes here.
