I found this on KC craigslist. PH# comes up as an unlisted landline from Helena Montana.

Cool little tractor listed at 1/3 price. I wonder how much shipping would be :oh_shucks:

We get ads like that all the time on Craigslist.  It falls under "you get what you pay for" since there aren't many rules or any money involved to post an ad.  Recently we had someone posting trucks or cars under farm and garden.  Same vehicle in around a dozen or so ads, just worded differently and always the same low price.  If you start seeing goofy amounts such as what you posted here, pretty safe bet it's a scam.

Those scams will almost always have a xxxx@ gmail.com address also. It's usually posted in big letters on ad somewhere. I flag as quick as I can when I see them

I think your sniffer is working very well. I've emailed and ask to look at some along that post before and if you want to see it then they tell you it is crated and wrapped ready to ship to who knows where.

I believe this same tractor and ad was up last year and noted on here. Stay away!  As clever as these ads get, at times they start to sound unbelievable and that is when to stop looking.

I frequently see ads like this on CL and our local online ads. Be careful responding to ads like this--aside from trying to get you to buy sight unseen (and never seen), they also use these ads to gather personal information for ID fraud--your email address, phone number, etc. all can be exploited.

That's due to the Nigerian conversion rate: $2,500 is about 500,000 Naira.
