I've been playing with an old Suburban basket case.  I've been using parts from out of the corners of the shop.  Wheel horse hood , J.D. tires and wheels, 10hp kohler from a J.D., seat from ???? ,  LED cargo light for a hearlight . .....and an old  car horn.  It's a Johnny Cash Special.

A couple days ago the wife came out to the shop  and commented on the headlight.  I told her that the LED's didn't get hot like the normal bulbs would. Naturally she had to check for herself... and naturally I honked the horn just as she touched the light.  She jumped back about 3 feet and had a new pet name for me!!!

Today the wife came out to the shop. First off she says that horn won't bother her again. (An Outright Challenge...  correct?)    I fire up the engine and tell her how good the compression is.  Naturally she has to check for herself.... and naturally i had to honk the horn just as she passed her hand over the exhaust. She jumped up about 3 feet and back about 3 feet.   Thus giving me a quote for the title of this thread.

She also suggested a new place to install it.

This retirement thing may not last long!!     Rick

Do you have a really hungry dog, or maybe a neighbor who would taste test your food for ya? Make sure the wife takes the first bite, at least. You're in for it.

I picked up a Homelite T-16 H in Missouri a while back. It had all kinds of things on it. When we picked it up the battery was dead and we had to push it into the truck. When we got back home from our travel adventure, I was showing it off to the wife. I had put the charger on the battery and was going to try to start it. I saw the horn button and knew better but I just had to try........... same reaction a jump of about 3 feet a few choice words and a smack in the arm. Some people don't have any humor in them.  I like the headlight on that one. Sounds interesting.                                                                                             Roger

Keep poking the bear and see where it gets you. Many wives get to resent their retired husbands disrupting their routine. It can be a stressfull time for her. Dont make it worse. Good Luck, Rick

You beat me to it!

You want to stay vertical here and enjoy life! Also, you may want to chew your food! Remember, she has those cast iron skillets in the kitchen! Those things hurt!

Next thing, if you have the equipment, I suggest wiring the horn to the bathroom light.

No, but I know a young lady ( at the time) who nearly killed her wayward husband with one!

The wife has been laughing at most of the responses,  but after reading that suggestion she is thinking I'm not so bad after all. :D  :D
