I have a Ariens snowblower 724 from probably the 1980's.  With a model 7 HP Engine (75) Tecumseh HSK70-130210K.  The problem is the motor stalls under stress.  Runs for a shot time and then stalls again maybe about 20 seconds later.   The checked the gas cap which has good air flow.  The bowl of the carb. is clean.  It has fresh gas 93 octane with seafoam.

Any suggestions for fixing the problem?  Carb rebuild? Suggestions.

Check the plug wire where it disappears under the tin, it rubs the wire down and creates a different problem each time.

I would also pull the whole fuel line off and check it.

Do you believe the plug wire is shorting out?
When the motor starts to stall - if I eliminate the load the motor sometimes runs fine. Until a few seconds from then when it stalls.

Probably not, but it can be an issue on these.

what are you saying can be an issue?

It could be just a matter of opening the high speed carb adjustment a bit.
