Yesterday IE stopped responding on my HP with Win 8.1.
Nothing brought it back, so I did a recovery.

I think the problems started when I installed a huge pile of useless
stuff, to get my scanner working.

In doing the recovery, LiveMail was uninstalled.
I found and re-installed it, but all my contacts, and past emails are gone.
Would they not be stored in separate data files that should be preserved
during the recovery, and if so, how can I make LiveMail find them?

I have some important emails, I need to retrieve. Plus my contacts. Pita.

I did figure out how to use the scanner, without loading all that HP fluff again.
Embedded Web Service is part of the printer driver, and it gets the scanning
job done.

Any technician with a recovery set up can get those contacts and messages back as long as they are not wrote over by another program.  If they are, your out of luck I am afraid.  I lost a whole folder of photos when we tried to straighten out Windows 7 and their stupid LiveMail, which I despise.  Good luck.
