I figured I'd try to make the standard reverse flow muffler something like these.

Mine only has 2 tubes inside the short one that that connects one end to the other I don't have.
Started with a piece of 4" pipe, some 1-1/8" thin wall pipe and some pipe fittings.
Also 4 standard round metal electrical box covers.

Cut all the parts to length and drilled many holes, the 2 round plates with the 2 big holes in them also have 2 smaller 3/4" holes in the them, these let the exhaust go from 1 end to the other inside the muffler.

The inside part is show backwards, rotate 180 deg and it's right. (bottom to top)
All put together and welded.

Installed in the tractor, covers and heat shields in place.

Sound test.
This now makes the tractor mobile and usable again.

What size are the holes in the inner tubes?
The tube that comes from the engine 1/8"
The tube that leaves the muffler 1/4"

Sounds good Doug & well thought out. I liked the puff of smoke throttling up...let's you know she's a little tired but healthy. Thanks for sharing.
Also lets you know it's running, just in case you've hit the mute button by mistake.
