This looks like a great deal, he says the trans went out. I wonder if the clutch is gone? Looks like a 241? machine.

Got a old economy tractor worked fine until few weeks back transmission went out hydraulics work fine still an the motor runs strong jus don't move 300 obo call or text any time

24 would be the first 2 digits.  Might be stripped splines on the axle or other problem in the rear end.  Could also be broken shift forks in tranny.

I agree.  It's kinda rare to trash a transmission in these tractors but it does happen.  Judging by the looks of the tractor, anything is possible.  It could be as simple as the snap ring that holds the clutch flywheel in place broke and the flywheel slid forward.  The possibilities are almost many.

Is this on Craigslist?
At least he doesn't have an overly high opinion of its value!
