Today for dinner, we had Savory Beef Roast (beef raised on our farm) with red potatoes and gravy, and carrots and onions. It is all cooked in Cast-iron Dutch ovens. It was very delicious!

WHAT!!!!!!!! You told me you would let me know when you were going to make it again.........  Looks really great. I remember my mom making a sour gravy like your to go with the roast done in the cast iron dutch oven.    Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.                                                         Roger.

Very good looking meal. We love carrots.

When my wife makes a pot roast with potatoes and carrots, she cooks 3 pounds of carrots!

Here was my evening meal.

Ribs, sweet potato and cole slaw.

Only way to cook a roast. Wife has a Griswold Dutch oven with the trivet and the roast will fall apart when cooked in it.

I had Meatloaf!  The Poor-man's dinner.  THEN, had to take it to work for lunch too!  Ewww! I ate it, but didn't Like it! Far as Carrots for me, I never liked the cooked ones that much, yet can eat hard raw all day.

But these carrots were cooked with the meat, potatoes, onions, and herbs and spices .

You need to try our meatloaf recipe. We use barbeque sauce on top, instead of catsup. We had neighbors who fried leftover meatloaf.
