When did Wheel Horse start putting the fuel tank under the seat and for what models?

Think it was a Law to have away from engine by certain time, but not sure when that was. Think most of the 80's tractors had that. Wheelhorse I think would be start of the "Black Hood" models. They had diff front metal and black area in front and top of recessed hood. I have one of those and like them. They were early 80's.

1977 C-Series had the tank under the hood.

1978 C-Series had the tank under the seat.

My 1st pickup truck, '70. Tank in the cab behind the seat.

 

2nd pickup, no tank in cab, 1972. The fill for the tank had a hole in the cab, now with a solid rubber grommet 

 

Gas tank moved from the truck cab.   :thumbs:
