I needed a tiller for my 7114. Found several on CL, but have a hard time shelling out $350 for just the tiller when I only paid $200 for the tractor. Can't till in 0 degree weather so I kept looking. This showed up a couple weeks ago and I kept looking at it. Really bad pictures but he was asking $225. Said it ran.

I got it for less than that and he delivered it. He was about 45 minutes away.

I'm going to rebuild the carb, clean her up and get things adjusted and running. Use her through this summer and do a complete restoration next winter. My plans.

What are your plans for her?

Hopefully I can get a summer out of her as is other than the carb.

By the way, I served in the Navy as well. 4 years active on board the USS WAINWRIGHT out of Charleston, SC.

Its a diamond in the rough. Congratulations. I've got a 3012 that I need to restore too. They are a great machine. There are manuals for it in our Manuals Section. The varidrive can be a pain but if you can get it all loose and lubricated they work okay. Good Luck, Rick

Actually with a side panel and seat cover, I like her the way she is!

Good looking Sim you have there, and you got the tiller for free with a cheap priced running tractor. Way to GO !!

I was an airdale and most of my tours were out of Norfolk, Va.  It seems to me somewhere in the back of my mind the Wainwright was one of our escorts.

I have 1/2 of the right side cover. The other is completely gone. First thing I wanna do after I get the carb rebuilt, is get 2 lights on her to make grumpy happy.

Yes, Sir. We spent lots of time in the Med, flagship for the Admiral, escorting one carrier or another. I was on her from November 1981, until August 1985.
