The tiller I got with Crusty has need of a carb rebuild. Problem is I can't find anything to identify it.

The tiller is model # 917251883. Engine is part number 634A714

Here is a pic of the carb.

Anyone know what rebuild kit I need. I don't want to take it apart till I have what I need for it.

Yep, looks ilke old B&S updraft. I thkn you have to remoive the main jet before you can separate the top half of the body.

Some places you will see that listed as a large 3 bolt flo-jet and other places you will see that listed as a medium flo-jet. just make sure you get a bigger kit with a 3 bolt hole air horn gasket. That is providing i'm seeing it correctly and it only has 3 bolts instead of 4. You are supposed to take out the main jet before removing the top. There is usually a new jet in the kit. The jet has a taper on it that has to seal or fuel will leak out the choke end like a bad needle and seat.

what are the numbers from the engine?  That will help you tell the right kit.

I have one of those carbs laying on the garage floor right now with no "rest of an 8HP Briggs" to mate it up to //but it too would certainly need a kit...

When you take the jet out and then the tube, be SURE that your screwdriver does not damage the threads while removing the tube.  Mine was damaged prior and I could not get the new tube to go all the way in.  $30 later I have the tap to clean up the threads and put in another new tube an jet.  Lesson learned.

I would suggest you take a screwdriver that has the bit to fit the lot in the tube.  The taper grind the sides from the bit down to the shaft.  this will make the bit the wides part of the screwdriver and lessen the chance of damage to the threads.   Good luck.
