There was no pics but I've heard the Gutbrod name on here before so, I'm posting it for anyone interested. Good Luck, Rick

Rare Bolens gutbrod 3 cylinder snowmobile

Rare running machine. Has a three cylinder engine that runs great. Compression over 120 in all cylinders. Had it out today. Seat very nice but not perfect no rot hood hood good windshield and track. Wide track handles good and drives through deep snow.$800 or best offer thanks trades considered for other sleds or tractor attachments Bolens or massey ferguson

I know a bit about Gutbrod, because the MF Elf was made by them. I spent quite a bit of

time researching Gutbrod stuff 2 winters ago, when I restored my Elf. I never saw anything

like a Gutbrod snowmobile, or heard of any affiliation between Gutbrod and Bolens.

Maybe someone built something at some point in time, and the seller just isn't

up to speed. But, you never know, it could be a prototype or ??

Sure would be nice to see a picture.

Wasn't the Elf a Dura Corp product?

From what I understood, Bolens and Gutbrod worked together to import equipment between Germany and United States. Certain Bolens models were imported to Germany under the Gutbrod name. Some Gutbrod products were found in Bolens equipment in the US. Lots of Bolens Snowmobiles have Gutbrod engines. Never seen a 3 cylinder version though. Would love to see it.

I found some Bolens sled pics.

http://www.vintagesl...hp?topic=1536.0

There is a triple Gutbrod in there.

I had no idea Gutbrod engines where used in the Bolens sleds. Nice to

learn something new every day.

Where they used by any other sled manufacturers?

About Dura Corp., they made the Executives for Massey, and the Moto-Mowers.

The Elf is a Gutbrod 1032 in Massey clothes.

Will thank you for the clarification. I was quick to respond and associated the Elf with Executives.

I have a few miles on a Bolens Sprint 292. Gutbrod powered. While not the best sled, it starts easy and often considering its lack of maintance

Interesting.  You wouldn't happen to know which ones they were would you?

Somewhere I have Gutbrod brochures. I will have to find them.

IIRC,

These Bolens sent to Germany were not complete tractors. Just bits and pieces were supplied. Sorry if I miss lead anybody. Similar to Bolens snowmobiles. Just the engines were supplied by Gutbrod.

Ya not that rare The 399cc and up sprints had a 3 cylinder Gutbrod in them.  The 440 is the most seen of them.

Did I say $800 is alot for that in that kind of shape?

Have '72 440 super sprint with the Kiekhaefer 433cc it also has the optional high performance dual carb kit ,expansion chamber & racing sprocket kit, it's clean, and was close to this in price. He sent me same pics and video of it running, his price isn't etched in stone.
