I came across these two for sale on CL and decided to buy them since I need a ton of parts to rebuild my MW Squire 10. The man I bought them from said one ran a few years ago but had a problem with the points rod. His plan was to build one tractor out of the two but he decided to sell them due to health reasons.

Nice catch but they both look repairable. The points rods on the old B&S would leak so you need to look in the B&S repairmans manual for the section on the points rods and the seal set. Good Luck, Rick

sweet deal, I have been looking for a reasonably priced parts machine myself.  I am burning thru all my parts restoring dads allis, the parts pile is getting pretty low.

Great score, lots to work with there. I Recently replaced the points plunger and points plunger bushing in one of these. There is also a rubber boot that goes over the plunger rod to help keep the oil where it belongs. Zippo has a video on youtube regarding the removal and installation of the plunger assembly, and it's worth watching. Good luck and have fun with them!

I got very lucky with these two and bought them for a very reasonable price. Between the two of them I should have most if not all of the parts I will need for my Squire 10. Tomorrow I will evaluate each tractor and decided which one I will use for parts.

Hey Matt, those knobbys on the front of the one 10 aren't riversides by chance? You know I'm still looking for a pair of those for my M/W tractor if you find any you don't need. Great deal on those 2 10's for sure.

It would if it was a Riverside Brand tire that Montgomery Wards sold. I believe that is the manufacturer that produced them for Montgomery Wards as it looks identical to the Wards tire. Thanks for asking and I'll keep it in mind.

Today I got the early B10 running with some minor work and also sold the late B10 to a friend. The running B10 needs a good tune up but I'm just happy it's running. Now it's time to start rebuilding my Squire 10

That was the plan, since I don't really have much extra money to work with right now. These two came up for sale at a great price and after I'm done selling stuff I'll have a complete tractor for parts with only $25 invested into it.
