Hi I am new to here and looking for information or resources on a Montgomery wards power-trac. According to the information on it it is a model Mid 5055a serial number 1560 (from what I have seen this means it is a midland and is 7 hp, correct?). It has been redone, but it needs the seals for the transmission (the shafts that exist the transmission case). I was wondering if there is someplace to get them (I have been told that Sears can get parts, but question this). Also information on date and manuals would be neat. It has the sulky, sickle bar mower, and cultivator.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the forum. You're right about it being built by Midland. Not sure if we have a manual for that in the manuals section or not. Garry West may be able to post one if it isn't theere.

Welcome to GTT. Check the Manuals Section for Manuals (3 free downloads per day). Request in a post what you want that you can't find. Check with our sponsors for parts. Good Luck, Rick

This manual should be the one

Believe the 5055 was supplied in 1956 and possibly 1957. The units sold by MW used Wisconsin engines where the Midland sold units used B&S engines.

I also think the tractors were shipped to MW less the engines and it was MW that added the engine.

The 5055 was the basic unit and by adding a 5056 handle bar kit it became a model 5849 PowerTrac.

The 5055 was the basic unit and by adding a 5057 rider kit it became a model 5006 PowerTrac Rider.
