Picked up a 1967 J.D. 112 Round fender.I got it at the end of Dec but didn't get a chance to post anything about it until now.A guy in my Dads  local tractor club had the tractor and was at the auction that I bought the 64 110.He had seen that I bought the 64 and asked if I was interested in another but his was a 112.He said he had bought it for parts for his 110,but got tired of it being in the way and wanted to sell it.I got his number and called him a few weeks later.I went and looked at it and it followed me home. While I was there I got a grand tour of his collection .He had a very, very clean heated garage.I didn't mind staying and shooting the breeze with him for a while. He said as soon as oil hits the concrete he cleans it up.

The 112 needs some work. The guy he got it from pulled the engine and changed the head gasket.I'm not sure if he did anything else to the engine. The engine is just sitting in the frame not bolted down.It doesn't have the correct seat, the seat spring has a square tube welded in between the spring. The hood latch is broke out.I need to find a muffler for it and belt pully cover.I won't know what else i'll need until I put it back together.

One could secretly hope it is a '66 but it is still cool.  The Tec scares me so I avoid the early 112.

I was kinda hoping it was a 66 when he was telling me about it but when I got there and looked at it I found out it's a 67.The Tec don't scare me this one has points so I'm not worried. The newer solid states scare me.

I finally finished my 68 140 restoration. The 67 112 is next on my list to restore. I started working on the engine and found neither of the valves were moving when i spun it by hand. I tore into it and found the camshaft was broke. The crankshaft was also missing teeth. I had several spare points tecumseh engines but they are out of masseys. So i started transferring parts over and got to the crank pulley and the crank on the massey engine is bigger than the john deere. So there goes that idea.Luckily a couple weeks ago i got a rough 112 that had the engine in it.I tore that one down and pulled the cam,and crankshaft out,and ordered a rebuild kit.I had a buddy of mine that builds pulling engines do a 3 angle valve job and remind valves.
