Nice addition to the family!

You did a very good job bringing Rusty back to a beautiful tractor. The equipment also looks very nice!

Regards,

Chris

Well - I finally got to push a little snow around with 'Rusty' today (no pics) But I was very happy to get some seat time and was pretty impressed with the load he could move , traction was not too bad either .

A little horse ! I almost feel bad beating him up ...almost . The belts do good, no slip , enough to spin the wheels when I hit a bank . He runs without any skip or hesitation . What a nice little toy !

Attached File  Farm Test 1959.pdf   263.37KB   28 downloads

I was looking around the internet today trying to find cool things and maybe another DB .

I happened on this University of Nebraska , farm and agriculture test of the 1959 David Bradley . I thought it was pretty interesting .

Also found some other info.

1959: Government steps in:
Government felt that Sears had a monopoly on outdoor gardening equipment. In the 1960's the federal government was looking at Sears and David Bradley in light of the anti-trust/monopoly laws and in 1962, Sears merged the David Bradley Manufacturing Company and the Newark, Ohio company into a single unit, still maintaining ownership.

1962: Newark, Ohio Company:
In 1962, Sears merged the David Bradley Manufacturing Company and the Newark, Ohio company into a single unit, still maintaining ownership. The Bradley Plant then became known is the Newark Ohio Co., Kankakee Division.

1964 Roper:
In 1964, the Newark Ohio Company was merged with the Geo. D. Roper Corporation, which was the only nationally known firm to headquarter in Kankakee. Sears owned Roper and had them buy out Newark (which owned David Bradley at this point ) Although the Roper Corporation is not owned by Sears, that merchandizing giant was still the major customer of the firm. With the merger, the Bradley Division of Geo. D. Roper became more active than ever.

If anyone knows of a decent DB - 60-61-62 I am always looking to add one .

That's pretty cool. You ought to upload that to the Sears Brochures section.

Rusty's  earning his keep now  :rocker2: ! We got a few more inches of snow with more on the way , I fired him up when I came in from work today , 3 passes later the driveway was clean :D   . It is a lot more fun than paying someone to plow it with a truck . :smilewink:

My uncle was by yesterday and saw this picture .

9W24dTE.jpg

He say's " That is one fine lookin' machine - a real beauty"

LOL he helped me do it , and has 2 of his own .
