I have a great old Gilson Wards Garden Tractor, Model GIL 33471 A, S/N 0347E1 682. Bought it 3 years ago for a lot I owned, used it occasionally. Just wondering how old this tractor is !001.JPG

Welcome to GTT. That is a nice looking machine. I would guess that that is late 70s to mid 80s. Good Luck, Rick

This manual is dated 9/78 on the bottom More than likely it is correct.

Easiest way would be to post the complete engine number, that will get you close.  That being a verticle shaft, very late 70's to early 80's.  My parents purchased a Wards in about 81 or 82, it looks just like yours except the hood is completely red.  They are sturdy, but not as well built as the S series clones that preceded them, we had tons of deck spindle problems.
