Well I get this phone call Friday afternoon from a friend I used to work with. We chat for a few then he asks me if I would be interested in his 149 Cub Cadet if not he was going to scrap it Saturday morning. I tell him you won't get very much for it scrapping it especially if they have to come pick it up as he doesn't have a truck. He says no reasonable offer will be refused. I tell him hows about a bennie. Come get it. Quite surprised when I got there and seen how nice of shape it is in. He told me on the phone it didn't start very well and the hydraulics are really slow. A new air and hyd oil filter cured the problems. It needs a couple weld repairs to the mower deck lift arm and the deck itself.

That's a great score . I can't believe someone would consider scrapping it. Now it can have the life it deserves.

Thanks for the compliments guys. At some point in it's life it has been repowered with a replacement Kohler. That machine runs like a swiss watch.

Glad you got to save it. That would have been a shame to scrap that, congrats.

Sweet find! Great save! I've had several 149's and still use one. Lift arm repair? Meaning manual lift? 149's came standard with hyd lift. Hmmm...also looks to be a replacement engine.
