Cub cadet 100 Unknown part? help?

OK so my pap is restoring a cub cadet 100 he told me he dont know where this part goes i looked and looked and cant figure nothing out.  So do any of you cub cadet junkies know where it goes?

i dont know for sure but to me it looks like a small engine shield that goes around where the intake is? it seems like there is some small cover there i just cant quite picture in my mind what it looks like. that should be a good place to start though! you may have to remove the carb to put this shield on.

That goes around the carburetor intake.  The hole on the long side connects to the nearest bolt that holds the blower shroud on while the other hole is tied to the engine head.

It is a carb shield that keeps air flowing around the cylinder fins on a Kohler engine.
