I would not say it will replace your computer. But the IPad will become very handy very quickly.
And yes I sometimes post pictures upside down too.

I was just reading a post, on another site, about tablets  and phones replacing the desktop. Not going to happen anytime in the near future.

I have been using the ipad for several years. Love it's mobility.
George laughs at me anytime we are at a plow day together... Says I'm going to plow it under one of these days.

If you learn to keep the home button on the RHS, you won't be posting pics upside down often. If you need to change orientation, let us know.

IF you give it time to become part of your lifestyle, you will enjoy it I believe.
Oh, the big downfall. Same as the one with cordless phones... Where did I leave it? :D

Auburn , I'll bet your not as lost as me--My wife got me a tablet for Christmas, nice thought but I asked her what it did and she said the same as my lap top-OK-

I got it to turn on and not much more.My big fingers don't like the touch pad and after several attempts I finally got it to get on line then tried to close some windows my crooked fingers opened about 10 more that's when I yelled at it to do an obscene act on me and it took me to some XXX site,I guess it has voice command also. That was the end of that, turned it off and put it back in the box---I'll stick with my laptop for now.

I love my ipad. Yes I still use my laptop for business. But to quickly check my emails, or what is going on in the world or on this site, it's easy and I can do it sitting on the couch watching tv. Now the bad news Auburn, you need to start learning fast, I would hate to have to say my not quite 2 year old granddaughter can find her app, the pictures, etc faster and better than you. :poke:  You will enjoy its portability for sure! PS you must have a good wife!

The iPad definitely is more versatile than the ol' coal fired desktop. You will adapt quickly.

Wife got me a Fire HD last year. She uses more than me. It needs Wifi, so only good around house or places with that. If you have internet connection all times, you will use more. I find easier to use the tool/stick/pen thing to touch most areas on it. Don't forget you can make it bigger to see better when needed.  Worst thing is the auto-correct that fixes or actually changes words I've used to post here and picks diff one than I would and gets post wrong, heh!  Do yourself a favor and get one of those Otter boxes to cover it and protect. They aren't cheap, but work well, can even drop some and not hurt. Diff colors too! I want one someday, but bigger and then makes hard to carry around. I'm thinking one of those big phones with the style to draw is my best bet. I need to update my cell and that will be it I think.

Now THAT was a great video of the "dad" just done, ha, ha!

I have an original, operating system is miles behind the new ones, won't upgrade, crashes a couple of times an hour, I still use it every night. Very handy while napping on the sofa to the evening TV shows, not nearly as hard on the parts when you fall asleep and drop it in your lap! :D

well, twentyfive years ago, we had a radio and a tv and a car and life was great, too - without internet.

on the other side - no internet means no gtt - so life is more interesting now! maybe, in twenty five years, I'll have an ipad, too
