Hello all, I am working on a Bolens 1050 for a relative of mine and he has two bad transmissions gears, one is completely ground down (item # 43 part # 1716477) and the other has some wearing on one side of the gear (item # 90 part # 1713409). I was wondering if anybody has any extra's of these gears or know where I could find them? Thank You.

I may have what you need. I will look to see what gears they are then I'll look through my parts stash and let you know.

Thank You farmerall. The main one is part #1716477, its the cluster gear with three gears on it. Tractor only has reverse, 2nd and 3rd gears in low range and nothing in high range.

I have that gear in a parts transmission but I'm not sure of the condition, some of the gears have surface rust on them but I think that one is good. I will check tomorrow and let you know for sure.

Surface rust is no biggy, as long as the teeth are in decent shape and there are no cracks or splits it'll be fine. The tractor is used mainly to run a rototiller.

that is the most common gear to go bad in these tractors. ive had 2 transmissions with the exact same gear stripped clean. ive seen them come up on ebay from time to time but they always seemed to want a pretty penny for one.

I figured as much, considering it's first gear in low and all the gears in high, would like to get it in running condition considering it was his fathers. I appreciate all the help.

If push come to shove there was a guy on either eBay, or CL for the Omaha, NE or Sioux City, IA area that has them rebuilt with a grantee for $180.00.  Bit pricy I thought but  ? ? ? ?

If you see and ad listing other Bolens gears, ask if they have what you need.  I did and ended up with the same gears you need and the guy had not got around to parting out that transaxle yet.  Good luck.
