She's been complaining that the thing keeps freezing up.  (Whenever there's a 'puter problem I get the brunt of it!)   :anvil_drop:

Pulled the HD cover off and found she had dust-bunny infestation to the max!  The processor was over heating and the thing stopped in it's tracks.  It's the first time I ever tore into a Laptop so I ripped and tore until I ended up with this pile:

Then I went to bed as it was 23:00 and I was tirrrred..

I got up this morning and braved the sub-zero wind chills to go out and clean the thing out and reassembled.  And somehow I got it back together and everything even works!!

You wouldn't think laptops could collect that much dirt with them not having a bunch of fans like a desktop pc but they do. Glad you got it back together and working.

It's a good thing when they still work and there are no extra parts left! Bet she's happy!

Heck..  There really wasn't alot to t he darn thing..  The green thingy in the picture is the mother board!  The fan was packed and the heat sink fins plugged up.  the fan was running @ high speed until the thing froze..  I ran diagnostics and A/V checks and didn't turn anything up..  THEN the thing stopped during Disk check so I knew it was heat or processor related.  My other laptop can be easily blown out clean without tearing it apart.   Now I know how the thing goes together and am not as fearful as I was before.  Heck-  I even rebuilt my snowmobile engine this year!

I thought you were going to report she had been visiting questionable websites.

Now if you would have had any extra screws left over but it worked anyway, would you have taken it back apart to figure out where they went or hid the screws?
