I finally had to buy a newer used truck. My old one had 216K on it and was starting to eat antifreeze. A very trusted mechanic tested it and said it might be time to put a new motor in, or look for a new truck. Would need head gaskets and intake at the minimum. I have been looking for awhile but couldn't find a plain work truck at a reasonable price. ( plenty of discussion about that here lately ). Well I was bouncing around on the internet and typed in "used Ford trucks" and found my perfect replacement.
I wanted an exact replacement , no frills work truck. Due to current trends I had to upgrade slightly, AC is now a stock item. Ok so I'm sure by now you want to know what I bought. 2014 Ford F150 2wd 6-1/2' bed with V-6 with auto trans. Manual everything , vinyl seats and matts. Am/ fm radio. And of course now AC . Only 15,200 miles. The good news is it comes with an extended factory warranty as a certified pre owned-100k power train. For me that was a major selling point . That gives me 2-1/2 yrs without any major I out of pockets repairs. Yes 2-1/2 yrs , I do over 40 k a year average so , do the math .
I was against spending the $$ and having a loan, but several friends and family members reminded me I need reliable transportation to make a living, considering all the driving I do it's a necessity . So without further ado here's a pic . Thanks for reading. Tom

Egads!!! A FURD.

It is about impossible to buy a work truck any more. They are all luxury cars with a bed on the back. Why anyone in a truck needs leather interior and thick carpeting I have no clue. You can't even get a 3/4 ton Suburban any more.

That being said. That isn't a bad truck. Hope you get good service it of it.

Nice truck. Ford makes a good pick up and the most America made truck on the road.

I love the looks of a regular cab truck. Almost a thing of the past with the ways the fuel economy laws are written.

Well done on getting a practical pickup without the bling. I got a second hand Toyota HIlux MK4 single cab to replaced my Land Rover. Again this is a no frills and no bling work truck that I used for business. Here's a photo of mine.image.jpg

Nice ride. I do like a Ford truck. The regular cab is getting hard to find because there are too many people buying trucks and not using them like trucks. Try finding a regular cab with an 8 foot bed and it's about impossible.

We just sold an '04GMC long bed work truck with 4.8 and 70,000, we still have an '04 GMC lwb work truck with 47,000 miles and a 5.3, both 2wd, crank windows, rubber floor liner, etc... No real reason to buy the V6 except the couple hundred dollars up front, the V8's generally get better mpg and tow/haul more. Saying that, the V6's would suit me fine.

That's easier to find around here than the short bed . 2wd and 8' bed very popular with the contractor
