Hi, I am rebuilding a TRA-10D out of my Estate Keeper.  The connecting rod that was in it had a DA-83-A cast into it.  So I bought a rod off of ebay that has this same part number on it but it is longer.  Any one have a clue to why this is?  both rods are .020" undersized.  Thanks, Jim

TR 10D used a "A" prefix in their rods and are not interchangeable with the TRA series

You are looking for a DA83S20    Sounds like you got the DA83AS20

Thanks for the reply.  I understand the "A" prefix now. lol But was curious as to why both rods have the "A" cast into them since they are different and the one shouldn't  have it. Have you ever run across this?  I'd post a pic but not sure how.  thanks, Jim

Yes, it is sort of confusing, most of the Rods have the A in the little cast circle but that does not always mean its for a specific engine. I thought that was kind of strange when I first saw that as well.

If you need one of the rods I may be able to beat the prices of the ones on ebay.

Ok, that is strange. I guess I should have done a bit more research before I bought that rod.  I have since ordered the DA83S20.  Thanks for the offer.
