I just got this Super 12 this morning. It came with the missing pulley and starter generator cover. It also came with 2 decks,a 42 and a 48 plus a spare front axle. He said it had no spark. I just checked it quickly and got intermittent  spark so I will check it out a little better before replacing the ignition. Oh a big thing to me is that it has a new crank, rod and piston. And I didn't even know that until after we struck the deal !

Looks good. That looks just like the one I bought new in 1970. It was a real work horse.

Thanks tinbender and MH. Actually there are 3 42 inch sears decks and a 48 on the wall behind the tractors. (Along with 2 other off brand decks).

Great Machine!    :worshippy1:

Just an observation, from those pictures it looks more like a '69 Suburban than a '68 Super

Thanks KC and Gtractor. Gtractor here is the standard 68 Suburban ( mine also ). I don't have any better pictures of it loaded to the PC right now. To learn more about identifying Suburbans take a look here.  http://vintagesearsg...tification.html

Good looking Sears..... I have one like it. Mine has been repowered with a newer tech motor so it's been cut and modified  :(  I wish they didn't do that. I really like the looks of the older equipment.

Thanks T and I agree. I hate when people cut up vintage iron if it is still decent.

The reason I think that is yours appears to have the '69 dash.

69 Suburban and 68 Super's have the same grille

I guess the only way to know for sure is with the model #.

At any rate,  those are great machines.  I have a 68 Super with 3 point.

Looking closer Gtractor,my tractor has all the "right" '68 Super stuff but the dash is like my 68 standard. I will go get the number and run it.

917.25311,serial 6708. It comes back as a '68 Super 12. I don't know why it has the newer style dash. It looks original.
