I just picked this 1980 212 hydro up yesterday for $300 with tiller and blower, Gonna start a resto soon as winter breaks. It runs great and the hydro also works good, she aint pretty now but in a few months it'll look a little different.

Ahhh. Buy tiller - get tractor and blower free! I bet I drop that much at the machine shop when I pick up the block for my 214.

JD, You made a great deal, Like "nut" said, You bought a tiller at a great price and got a free tractor with mower and show blower. I would love to find a deal like that.

Nice find. Tiller, snow blower & hydraulic lift. BTW, I see it has manual pto - I'm trying to remember when Deere put electric pto's on the 200 series - either 1980 or 1981?

from what I have been told is the hydro was a dealer installed option, but I could be wrong seeing this is my first Deere.

That is true, the hydraulic kits were dealer installed. You order the tractor and the hydraulic kit, and the dealer would install it. The 200 series were made from 1975 to 1986, and included the 200, the 208, 210, 212, 214 and 216. The early years they had manual ptos, and the later years they had electric ptos. Throughout the series, the hydraulic lift kits were dealer installed options.

Well, I found a parts tractor for free, it has everything mine needs plus more, I has an excellent hood and grill which my grill is missing. The rear fender - steps are 100 times better than mine along with a few other pieces. The gas tank will also go on mine the po cut the filler spout off and put a plug in it.
