All depends where you live!

Are you a person who lives in "Picker Land" where everything is rare because its "old" or do you live in the real world and have an understanding that not all things that are old are worth a million dollars :D

We don't have any crack dealers within walking distance of my house, but it doesn't make crack worth 10 times as much in this neighborhood.

It is a very nice sign, though. Someone go ahead and tell him he tacked an extra zero on there.    :poke:

While it is way over-priced, I do think it's worth more than 10% of the asking, but not too much more.

would you believe that that is not really a bad price for a sign like that.  good friends of mine purchased a store and looked into having a sign like that made for the front of the store, 4' square with two small words and a simple graphic on there and the price came back over $4000.  I was honestly shocked when he showed me the quote.  that being said !!!  there is no way in ^#(& I would give $2500 for that sign, not even that old or neat looking.

That's because it says Allis Chalmers on it.    :poke:    What if it said Ariens?

Then you'd be pedaling to PA just as fast as your little feet could handle, I'd bet.    :rolling:

Looks like the seller has bought plenty of memorabilia in the past....it may be the "I dont really want to sell it price", but he probably knows more about the collector market value of Allis stuff than any of us here.

AC stuff can really garner amazing sale prices, but I dont think the L&G sign would appeal to as many of the AG collectors, who are the ones shelling out the big bucks.

Awesome sign though....Id love to add one to my shop.

You are right.  New signs are not cheap.

Don't forget that sign collectors are a crazy bunch, too.  Try to buy certain tin signs.  :wallbanging:  I won't tell what I paid for my Clinton sign, but it isn't pretty.  I have a couple signs on my wish list I would love to own... but not at the price eBay throws around.

By the way, it's already had at least one price drop that I know of. I believe he started at $2800.

I hope he likes the way it looks hanging there because at that price it's not going anywhere. The funny thing is, when the guy passes on his family will probably throw it in a dumpster.
