So whats the deal with the left foot rest for the SS/16.

I have been searching for one for over a week.

All I find is the Right side, and in nice condition too.

Or sold in pairs but price is almost more than I paid for a running tractor.

Thought I had a line on one, but, turns out it has the non skid holes,

mine are the smooth with non skid pads.

So ok I'll change both,My ford has the style with holes and I like them.

So guy says they are a little shorter than the smooth style.

I get the picks and it looks like a Blind guy with one hand

to a grinder to them and cut them down where it meets the fender line.

Not impressed

So anyway I need to find a left foot rest.

the one on the tractor is bent up pretty bad.

looks like it was hit by a freight train.

How it could undergo this much damage and not damage the rest

of the tractor is beyond belief.

Sorry for the rant just needed to vent to those that understand these things.

The wife just keeps turning up the TV

I have a sear custom not sure what I'm going to do with it it has the footrests with the holes is it I believe I could sell you the pair for a reasonable price not a get rich price if that will help you . But I understand your pain when the part you need cost more then you paid for the tractor

If I were looking for those here, I'd probably have to make my own. Not many of those tractors around here that I have seen!

I have a dozen sears here for parts. If you need a foot rest they run $20 plus shipping. I do have a real nice set still with the decal for the clutch for $40 a set plus shipping.

Check EBay. there have been several sets on there lately. All over priced I believe. When there are ~10 sets of something for sale, all about the same starting price; Are they still "rare"?

Not to :hijacked:

But; will the foot rests off a suburban fit on a custom without interfering with the deck? The ones from a custom are to short and I find myself putting my feet on the deck while mowing. Now with the deck off and the snow blade on, I have no place for my feet. I was going to make a set of extensions in the spring after the deck has been reinstalled.

Bmerf

I think it would be easier to extend yours.

With mine the clutch/brake rod goes through the foot rests.

The hard part is getting at the 2 keyed arms on the rod inside the frame

they don't move so easy

Other than that I would think they would fit

heres a pic of mine
