Has anyone found a source for an exact match piano hinge for the hood/grill?

Quite often, only one leaf of the hinge is damaged, and rather than replace

the entire hinge, it would be so much easier to just replace the broken pc.

The hinge is 1.5" wide when open, .090" thick material, .125 pin dia., and

the knuckle length is 1"

I have some hinge out in the garage that may fit to those dimensions. I'll see if I can get it measured today!

I've checked the McMaster Carr site. No luck. Also checked with

a large Canadian supplier of specialty stuff like that, Spae Naur , with no luck.

The only thing I am seeing different may be the pin dia. But I'll post the size of this hinge just in case. If it will work, you are welcome to a section of it for your purpose.

Closest I can find in stainless.

It's thinner, but the right knuckle.

If it's stainless it would be stronger for the same size so a little thinner might still be strong enough.

Mine is different! 2" wide, .060" thick, .125" pin, & 1/2" knuckle! Sorry!

Thanks Alan.

I've got to re-measure the OE ones. 90 thou seems kinda thick.

Maybe if I scratch the paint off, I can get it down to 60 thou.

Stainless would be useable, even if I can't weld it, and if it's a bit

weaker than steel, it would still beat removing the spot welded pc

off the headlight panel.

I found these guys in Ohio.

I'll call for a price on Monday.
