DSCN0228.jpg Well I could hardly be a collector with just the one tractor. So today I bought another one. Its a Ride a Matic. Its been restored to unoriginal condition. Repowered with a modern 3 hp, and rigged with a slip clutch. It does ride just fine, but its WAY WAY to fast. I may have not gotten a good deal on it, but here was my reasoning. It has NEW tires front and rear. It has a new Briggs 3 hp engine, and it has BOLENS on the grill!!!
I paid $250 for it. Could have got it with old tires for $150. What do you guy think?

I think with the new tires and overall shape you did well. I paid that much for mine and the tires aren't as nice. I like the looks of the little tractor. I'm definitely no expert but I think you got a good deal. I know some of the members are lucky enough to get freebies or low cost units, but I still have to pay going rate. So enjoy.

I think it should have been on that flat plate near the seat area

Your tractor is an older model than mine but like Brian said, the tag should be on the plate near the seat. At least that is where I found mine.

No luck on the model number. But I did find out that the seat is a food 9 inches to far forward. Theres 2 holes further back. Sure will make it easier for my 6 ft 4 in but to fit on that dinky tractor.

I thought I was jumping the gun getting my second Bolens after about 1 month but you are really hooked. Looks like a fun machine.

Bad thing is theres 13 more tractors in the same garage that these came from. I see a wheel horse mid mount engine in my future. My birthday is Friday... The wife may refrain from complaining if I do it then.

Looks like it has been modified quite a bit. I'll see if I can pull up a parts list so we can see whats missing

Looks good. Doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.
