I found this one by chance, I probably wouldn't have bought it if it weren't for the fast hitch, I am not going to do a full resto. on it as I plan to use it, but I do have a better hood and air cleaner for it as well as correct front wheels.

That fast hitch is a neat thing you need to grab when you see.  They are worth something, but the attachments are worth even more.

If that fast hitch is original to the tractor, it is probably a Super C.

Not entirely true, IH did make some C's with fast hitch near the end of C production, and the fast hitch on this one appears to be original, BTW the serial # was already checked by the PO and it is in fact a C, not a super C.

IH was good for doing rolling changes like that on tractors as the parts ran out and new became available.  Late straight H's were equipped with disc brakes before the Super H's came out for example.

Case in point, the 706 with the 310 German diesel, only offered the last year of production, but standard issue for the 756 diesels.  BTW, the big tractor in the 1st pic is a 310 equipped 706 and the tractor with the loader is a 606 diesel.

You are right.  That's what I said probably, there is always an exception.  I've owned a fast hitch C myself, sold it to a big red collector who wanted one of every fast hitch tractor.  He also is big on the implements.  I think he has one of everything but a very very rare mower or something else, I forget what it was.  He had told me that they only made a fast hitch C as a special order and only in the last two years of production.

Ok, interesting twist, was told when I bought it that it was a C but now I'm not so sure as the serial # appears to be a first year (1951) super c serial #.  The serial # is 129433.
