I can tell you how to stop it and do it without using toxic chemicals. My whole yard in Colfax was the stuff.
Trick I learned from an old Bohemian Gardener(sister-in-laws Grampa Dvorak), long since gone rest his soul.
Wish he were still around, there's a lot he never taught me.
Go down to the grocery store and buy Common Borax laundry soap.
Broadcast it like you would fertilizer and the stuff will die pretty quickly.
Then reseed with grass.

Trimec works pretty good, but thick creeping charlie may need the old Round Up treament then start fresh, Its a contact herbicide so after it kills whats there it breaks down.
