Going back to west Texas the middle of next week, will be gone for 14 days.  I have some of my panels sanded down ready for primer, my question?  Is rattle can primer good enough to use or should I use a paint gun and spray on the primer with it.  Thanks Willie

I think the rattle can primer is good enough. About all I ever use. The only time I used a paint sprayer primer was when I painted the frame for the old 72 F100 I had. The only reason I did it that way was because of the amount of primer that it needed.

:ditto:

The only reason I use primer through the gun is that it is so much cheaper.

I agree with AfterShock on the self-etching for the first coat. If there are pits or small areas to fill, buy some high-build.

I like to use iron oxide and gray primers in the last coats so I can see what I need to fix when sanding it down before shooting color on. Most everything on GT's I use rattle cans for my primer.

I used this Self Etching Primer on my MF12 & my MTD990. The parts to my MF12 have been hanging primed in my unheated garage with this for just over a year. I have been checking & no signs of rust coming back at all.

Seriously... they make you show an ID?!?!?  No offense but I've seen your picture, no one will mistake you for being under 18. :D

Our Walmarts just hit "yes" for over 18.  I've never been asked for ID.

On second thought, maybe you should take that as a compliment.

I usually go through the self checkout and you have to get someone over to verify age before the stupid thing will check you out!

But when you are in a Super Center and 10 folks are in line at the only 2 registers that are open, I am NOT going to wait there in line!
