Howdy, I'm Stan from Western Mass. I used to be active in old tractors until my back went out. I had Bolens, Case, Ford, Sears, John Deere, Wheel Horse, Massey, Snapper (Massey built), Cub Cadet, and one Panzer at one time or another.  I sold them all except one of the Snappers.

I'm a week into getting a Bolens 1220 up and running for snow removal.  I purchased it a few days ago along with a blower.

So far, I've gotten the Tecumseh running okay, I need to run some Sea Foam through it for a while. The gearbox was locked up but I took care of that in another thread.  The seat was shot so I transplanted the seat cusions from a Jacosen, at least I think that's where they came from.

I installed a car battery, lifted from my Fiat 850 Coupe. I wanted to make sure I didn't get stuck in the snow with a dead battery.  It has fresh oil, spark plug, and gear oil. Next comes chains and weights, I just have to find them in my parts stash. Then I'll install the blower and test.  I have a week before we're supposed to see snow so it looks like I'm in good shape.

I've attached a picture of the old seat cover, the new seat pads, and a decent view of the tractor. You may notice the plastic fuel shutoff, the tank shutoff is busted.

That about sums it up as far as tractors go.

Glad to have you here Stan!

Looks like a good ''Worker" tractor there

OEM style fuel shutoff valves with screen are still available if you need one.

Welcome back to the bright side of tractors!

That old Tecumseh will perk right up.  Once the carburetors are adjusted right and the right spark plug is in place, put it to work and it will clean up its act.
