I picked up a few L model Gravelys last weekend and im wondering what years they are?

#1 is in pieces with a lot of new parts with it(re-built starter, gaskets, piston, rings ect.).

Ser# L 72881.

#2 Is for the most part all there.

Ser# LI  M72588

#3 looks complete other than the starter is taken off of it and the head is loose.

Ser# L  2M7063

Are the engine and tranny parts all compatible? They look the same. They also came with a snowblower(missing the parts that turn the shute), A sickle mower with a whole new re-placement knives and points, dual wheel kit, extra tires and rims, a sulky, A finish mower, 2 brush cutters, a cultivator and lots and lots of extra parts.

Im new to Gravelys. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Thomas84

Are the engine and tranny parts all compatible?

Ser# L 72881         year...1942   5.0 horsepower with straight spark plug

Ser# LI M72588     year...1956   5.0 horsepower with straight spark plug

Ser# L 2M7063      year...1964   6.6 horsepower with angled spark plug

Virtually all parts are compatible with the models you have there.

Great Score!!!

Thanks for the quick  reply! They sure didn't change them much in 20 years, I would have guessed them closer in age. Did the 6.6hphave a bigger bore also? or just a different head?

Thomas, I believe the bore is the same on the 5hp to the 6.6hp, head and piston top are different. I remember someone telling me the stroke is different but I have not been able to find that information.

Happy New Year with your new toys!

KC
