Has anyone out there put a B43 flywheel on a P220? I'm considering doing this to save a few bucks on a 420 I picked up that is minus the engine and driveshaft. I have a P220G out of a miller welder that I'm going through because it was smoking a tad and was going to install it in the 420. I have a B43 flywheel and a driveshaft from a 420 that had a B43 motor in it. What, If any difficulties am I looking at and is this possible? I've checked out the part numbers and they are different, But haven't checked into it in any depth beyound that.

I'm not sure if the P220 uses the flywheel to trigger the firing or not. You don't have a P220 flywheel?

I do, but I don't have the 220 driveshaft. I have the shaft for the B43. (different length) The 220 uses the electronic ignition and the 43 uses points.

The Miller welder has a different crankshaft with a taper on the end. Will that be a problem for you?

According to this manual, there were 2 different flywheels used on the P216/218/220 engines.
